She is also fluent in American Sign Language and offers that for students to learn as well.

Mr. Beach is our shop teacher at the high school and has been teaching here since 2022. Last year, at DISHS, our shop programming began running through Deer Isle Adult and Community Education program at the high school. Due to the change, Mr. Beachy, teaches multiple classes for adults but they extend to our student body through courses such as PACT, Introduction to Industrial Arts, and Independent Projects. DISHS is grateful to partner with Deer Isle Adult and Community Education to ensure our students are getting exposure and skills to woodworking and building.
