Jimmy Douglass Memorial
Scholarship
The Jimmy Douglass Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student or students
who have been accepted into a two year program of a post-secondary
community college or trade school. The award will be provided anytime
after the first successful semester the recipient attends. This award
will be provided annually.
Award winners will be chosen on the following criteria:
- Any student who has been accepted to a two year program of a post secondary community college or trade school.
- The
student must have demonstrated a genuine sense of caring and
willingness to help through volunteer efforts during their time in
elementary and high school.
- The
student applying for this award may choose to submit details of why he
or she is attending the particular course of study and explaining why
they should be selected for this award. Submissions may be in writing,
through examples of work already completed or explained in person to
the selection committee.
All
applicants
will be evaluated by the Jimmy Douglass Memorial Award
selection committee and, should they need help in determining a
recipient, will consult with the high school staff. The selected
recipient will be notified prior to or at graduation that they have
been selected for this award.
