The halls of Deer Isle-Stonington High School will be strangely quite Monday September 10th-Wedensday September 12th as all students and teachers participate in our annual "Off Campus Learning Days." Approximately 20 students will spend three days in Haystack's Studio-based Learning program, an intensive arts workshop where area students learn alongside professional artists. The remaining students will make two visits to college campuses and spend one day at Camp Beech Cliff in Somesville with a focus on community building to support strong advisories and a respectful school climate. Off Campus Learning Days are elements of DISHS's School Improvement Action Plan, specifically connected to strategies around broadening student aspirations and connecting students with a supportive advisor.
