ATTENTION PARENTS OF SENIORS (and juniors... and sophomores...): there will be a very important financial aid presentation Monday, 9/12 at 6:00pm in the high school cafeteria.  Any family whose child is considering college should attend this informational session.  Kathy Heath, financial aid officer at Maine Maritime Academy, will help parents understand the financial aid process as well as the various types of financial aid available.  Especially important this year is a new deadline for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) of October 1st.

In addition to the financial aid presentation at 6 PM, there will be also be a  "Make A Successful College Transition"  presentation at 5 PM by Andrea Gifford, UM, Director of Student Support Services.  Ms. Gifford will talk about helping students to make the leap to their first year of college, including "red flags", what parents need to know and how college expectations differ from high school.  This is extremely important information for all senior parents and parents of first-year college students!  Pizza and snacks will be provided.
