American Presidents: Life Portraits
In addition to pictures of U.S. Presidents and Vice Presidents, you will find videos of various experts and reporters reflecting and reporting on the various presidents.

The American President
This Web site for the ten-part series was the first documentary series ever to profile all 41 of America's chief executives. It includes video clips from the TV show, and tells the story of the nation from the perspective of the highest office in the land, and features exclusive interviews with President Clinton and all the living former presidents except Ronald Reagan. There is a separate section for each episode.

The Supreme Court Historical Society

The site also includes a section describing how the Supreme Court operates.

United States History
From the Discovery Through the 1790s
From Columbus to the American Revolution, plus The U.S. Constitution, the documents, the ideas, and the people that affected The Rise of Democratic Ideas.

1800 Through 1860
After the Revolution and the adoption of the U.S. Constitution we fought another war with England (1812), and one with Mexico (1846-48). Lewis & Clark and others explored the West, Gold was discovered in California, and the population moved westward.

1860 Through the 1890s
The Civil War dominates the middle of the Nineteenth Century. The remainder of the century is concerned with major events such as: Reconstruction, the Industrial Revolution, Imperialism, Immigration, Westward Expansion and other great challenges.

20th Century History By the Decades
