The American President
This Web site for the ten-part series was the first documentary series
ever to profile all 41 of America's chief executives. It includes video
clips from the TV show, and tells the story of the nation from the
perspective of the highest office in the land, and features exclusive
interviews with President Clinton and all the living former presidents
except Ronald Reagan. There is a separate section for each episode.

The American Presidency: A Glorious Burden
In addition to general presidential information, you will find a

Through the 1790s
From Columbus to the American Revolution, plus The U.S. Constitution,

1800 Through 1860
After the Revolution and the adoption of the U.S. Constitution we
fought another war with England (1812), and one with Mexico (1846-48).
Lewis & Clark and others explored the West, Gold was discovered in
California, and the population moved westward.
1860 Through the 1890s
The Civil War dominates the middle of the Nineteenth Century. The
